WHAT IS BREAKTHROUGH
I like the word “Breakthrough” because it is an
uncommon word. It has a positive meaning, “progressive indication” or “moving
forward”. It signifies advancement in life and a positive change toward a
particular direction. As Christians it gladdens our heart when we hear people
talking about breakthrough.
Breakthrough
(breɪkθru) could be defined as any significant or unexpected advancement,
progress, attainment,
or increase, as in spiritual, scientific information,
and socioeconomic situation, which breaks a hurdle or barrier to
progress. Breakthrough means advancement not static.
Breakthrough cannot just come like that, it must follow a set of principles and
that is what this book is all about.
There are many forms of breakthrough but
I will like to briefly draw attention to four types of breakthrough.
(a)
Scientific breakthrough: This is a sudden and important
discovery that happens after a long time efforts to understand or explain,
providing solution to a particular life challenging problem. For example,
research discovery in HIV and AIDS.
(b)
Breakthrough innovation: This is considered an “unexpectedly”
solution that cannot be compared to any existing practices or techniques. These
forms of innovations employ new technologies discoveries, ideas and generate
new market structures.
(c)
Breakthrough in Investigation: The sudden or unexpected discovery of
facts about a particular case under investigation of criminal cases. For
example, the police have suddenly announced a breakthrough into the
murder of Chief Ovai Usa.
(d)
Spiritual breakthrough: This type of breakthrough is beyond
human comprehension, knowledge or technique. It is a sudden and unexpected
manifestation of an unnatural event through the intervention of the Holy Spirit
of God. Spiritual breakthrough is enhanced through persistent prayers. For
example, a barren woman gives birth at the age of ninety.
(e)
When we talk about success or
breakthrough, some certain things must be observed and kept as principle. These
observable rules and regulation through self discipline is what we refer to as
PRINCIPLES. Though, generally, we may see these rules and regulation as laws.
In a single word, I termed them as “Principles”. Law is a term for the society
or the community that has a constitution or any written codes but principle is
for the individual to regulate his own behavior for good and avoid what is bad.
The truth is nobody forces you to be poor or rich. It is your personal decision
that makes the different. This decision is guided by principles.
(f)
The law of the land will not guide you
to be rich or poor but that simple rule you set within yourself. The ability to
control and guide the decision you make and how your put them into action makes
the different. The principle of life is simply, “live healthy and rich” or
“live unhealthy and die poor.”
There can be no breakthrough without
principle. Principle is the only barometer to the attainment of breakthrough.
Proverbs 14:8 says “The
wisdom of the prudent is to
understand his way: but the folly of
fools is deceit.” The wise are careful means they live their life with
restriction and simple codes of life but the fool is loose and careless.
Proverbs 13:16 went further to throw more light by saying “Every prudent man dealeth with knowledge: but a fool layeth open his
folly.”

to fulfill divine potentials and purposes through awareness rather than commercializing biblical truth in the name of miracle: to promote the development and dissemination of knowledge regarding maladaptive behaviors that hinder man and God.
